An Altered Journal Project

It's been awhile since I've been in creative mode.Summer activities as well as work and all have gotten quite in the way of my crafty time so I decided to start an altered journal of sorts to get the juices flowing again.I don't really have any plan in mind with these pages except that I want them to be quite whimsicle and fun in nature. We'll see how it goes.

Handmade Tote bag

I've started making some tote bags out of T-Shirts.This is the second one I've made so far. They're fun and easy to make. However unless they are lined on the inside with heavier material I probably can't put anything heavy into it because they're made of cotton and cotton stretches. However if your going to the beach or just down to the corner store with keys sunglasses and a wallet than it definately works.

Vintage Bookmark

I really haven't had a lot of time to be creative but I was just itching to do something crafty tonight so I made a B&W Vintage Bookmark. One of many I plan to make.I plan to sell them at a shop downtown in my city and was very successful last time I brought them in.So we'll see how it goes.

Oh....So Yummy!

I usually love to bake when I get the chance but that doesn't happen very often and though today is a particularly hot day(+29)I thought I'd bake something. However when fishing around in my fridge and cupboards I realized that this momma has to go shopping. To make a sad story short I found some apples that have been kicking around in my fridge for about 2 weeks now and so I went online to find any recipe with as few ingredients as possible that would include apples. The recipe below is what I found and I absolutely loved it.If you have a sweet tooth you won't want to pass this up.However if you don't I would try a less sugary dessert.Enjoy!

Apple Raspberry Crisp

3 cups sliced apples(I used 4 small and 1 large)
1 package of Raspberry jello(gelatin)
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter(room temp)

Place sliced apples in a buttered 9" square baking dish.Sprinkle gelatine over apples.

In a small bowl combine butter/sugar and mix well.Slowly add in flour until mix is crumbly.Sprinkle mix over apples and bake at 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.Delicious Apple Raspberry Crumble!

You may substitute the raspberry gelatin for strawberry if you like.I just think the raspberry gives it a nice zingy taste and compliments the apple well. Please be careful when taking your first bite. It's very HOT!

Don't worry everyone,I didn't forget you...

Just wanted to let the girls know that I did not forget you in the Pay it Forward I hosted.I will be sending things out in the coming months.Right now funds are a bit short and this summer so far has been all about work so I've been pretty tired on top of also being sick with a bad cold. Please forgive me.I will be getting some ideas together for all of you in the coming month and by the end of July I should be sending off parcels to those participants that were selected.Hope you are all having a great beginning to your summer and please feel free to leave me an email message if you have any questions.
